Maxima Training Services and Maxima Group Training's annual graduation and awards night, held in the function room at Westlakes Football Stadium to celebrate the achievements of our Australian Apprentices, was attended by over 350 well-wishers, family and friends. Those graduating included groups from Horticulture and Business Administration at Levels 2 and 3.

In a short address, Maxima's CEO Ms. Janice Paget, emphasised the achievements of all who participated in vocational programmes with the organisation.

"This event is an opportunity for our students and Australian Apprentices to celebrate their achievements during the past twelve months. Last night at the Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club, 19 year old Stephanie Ballantine and 16 year old Jake Nicholson took home Maxima’s 2009 High Achiever Award. Both winners received a $1,000 donation towards the cost of competing in their chosen sport, surf life saving.

The awards aim to support and develop talented young sports people, providing much needed funds to support participation in both local and interstate competitions.

The winners were nominated by Surf Life Saving SA.

Jake, who has been a member of Grange Surf Life Saving Club for the past eight years, was thrilled to receive the award, saying “this will really be a big help towards competing at the Coolangatta Gold next month.”

Maxima’s CEO, Janice Paget, presented the awards. Mrs Paget said “Maxima is a not-for-profit organisation heavily involved in helping young people find employment and fulfilling career paths, this is just another way Maxima can support young people to reach their goals.”

This the first time that The Maxima Group has provided the awards. “Having identified two high potential young surf life savers we will now work with other sporting organisations to support young people in other sporting codes,” said Mrs Paget.
