Meet Michael Neroni, our Maxima Joblink Customer from Adelaide who works for Novita delivering the fantastic Wheelinet program.

Michael was working in a similar role until the organisation he was with dissolved and the program came to an end. Keen to get back to work and secure something with greater hours, Michael followed a ‘tip from Mum’s hairdresser’ to speak to Maxima. Since making contact, Michael has gone from strength to strength. His Maxima Consultant, Jeanette, helped him explore his options and generate interest from a number of employers. When the Wheelienet program was reinvigorated through Novita, Maxima supported Michael to negotiate a role with greater hours running the program, which he is super passionate about.

Michael brings 20 wheelchairs to each session, no mean feat! The program is tailored – for school kids through to corporate groups – and provides a taste of wheelchair life, either in the office or in a sports setting. His sessions raise awareness of wheelchair sports and promote inclusion for kids, young people and adults living with disability. Michael likes to focus on the things he can do in his wheelchair, not the limitations, and he says he hears the word ‘inspirational’ a lot after the sessions…

And his thoughts on Maxima? “Jeanette was fantastic, really supportive and she tried to find every way possible for me to reach my goals.”
