Administrative Officer Trainee | Department for Health & Wellbeing – New WCH Project

Your Host Employer:

The Department for Health and Wellbeing assists the Minister for Health and Wellbeing, to set the policy framework and strategic directions for SA Health. 

The department supports the delivery of public health services, formulates health policy, facilitates public and consumer consultation on health issues, and monitors the performance of South Australia’s health system by providing timely advice, research, and administrative support.

The Role:

Maxima, and the Department for Health and Wellbeing, are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ready to dedicate themselves to undertake an entry-level traineeship within the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital Project.

Located in Adelaide CBD, The New Women’s and Children’s Hospital (New WCH) Project Office is responsible for the planning, design and management of a new, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women, babies, children, young people and their families. 

As a trainee, you will contribute to the day-to-day transactional activities of the New WCH Project team through the provision of critical administrative support services across a variety of fields including:

  • Finance
  • Human resources
  • Information technology
  • Telecommunications
  • Records management 
  • Facilities management

About You:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to recognise and respect confidentiality and sensitive information
  • Good communication and attention to detail
  • Some prior experience in the use of Microsoft Office products (such as Word and Excel)

  • Satisfactory National Police Check
  • Positive attitude and a genuine want for learning
