Maxima’s Recruitment Services are seeking an experienced Arboricultural Team Member to join their client, a large local council with work based out of Marsden.
Based at Council’s Parks depot, the position will apply trade skills in maintenance and functions for the Maintenance and establishment of park and roadside trees to meet with the expectations of the community.
Work a 9-day fortnight with a casual hour pay of $42.96 + super.
Duties Include:
– Planting/replanting trees in road reserves or parks
– Mulching gardens and tree surrounds
– Ground based pruning and removal of trees using hand tools, chainsaws and mechanical hedgers
– Arboricultural practices including the use of a range of industry machinery and tools
– Inspecting parks and reporting graffiti, vandalism, broken or faulty park facilities, dangerous or damaged trees and
other issues that need rectifying
– Inspecting and cleaning parks and associated equipment eg, removing rubbish, raking/sweeping/blowing down hard surfaces
– Checking playground surrounds and parks for sharps and other debris to ensure public safety
– On a seasonal basis undertaking fertilising activities, pruning, planting, mulching
– Preparing and applying pesticide, herbicide and fungicide formulations in a safe manner and at suitable times
– Assisting in the implementation of integrated pest management programs to control weeds, pests and diseases
Requirements:
- MR truck license
- White card
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of ground-based tree maintenance or removal activities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
