Position: Assistant Financial Analyst
Location: Marsden
Employment Type: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week until Sep 2025 with possibility of extension
Pay: $42- $48/hr+ super
Maxima Recruitment Services is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as a Assistant Financial Analyst for one of our government clients.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Analyst to provide financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis support to the Road Construction and Maintenance Branch. This role ensures accurate financial deliverables and supports strategic financial planning and decision-making.
- Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Review and evaluate cost recovery rates for internal/external plant usage.
- Produce and distribute accurate financial reports for management and audits.
- Ensure financial data accuracy, including journal preparation and ledger reconciliations.
- Support end-of-month and end-of-year reconciliation processes.
- Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, job costing and financial planning.
- Provide financial training and support to branch staff.
- Compile and report financials for disaster management claims.
- Relieve Finance Analyst duties when needed.
- Communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Progression towards a degree in Business, Accountancy, Commerce, or related field.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accountancy, or Commerce.
- Valid Class C driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated practical experience in a financial-related position.
- Proven understanding of accounting principles, standards, and procedures.
- Technology One experience – Highly Desired
