The Role:

Maxima, and Calvary Adelaide Hospital, are seeking a committed individual to undertake an entry-level Business Traineeship working as a Patient Services Officer. 

As a Patient Services Officer trainee you will work across various medical departments in the hospital providing exceptional customer service and administrative assistance for all admissions and discharges.

Across 18-months you will work fulltime and be provided with paid, practical experience alongside experienced supervisors and study towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Business.
 
Duties Include:

  • Welcome patients and visitors
  • Maintain and manage patient records
  • Answer incoming telephone calls on a busy switchboard 
  • Process patient admission and discharges
  • Data entry, scanning and filing as required

About You:

  • Ability to build rapport with a variety of individuals 
  • Showcases initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Empathetic and caring nature
  • Remains calm when working under pressure 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills 
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written 

Role Requirements:

  • Ability to work rostered shifts between 6:30am and 9:00pm 
  • Willing to provide Immunisation History Statement
  • Current National Police and Working with Child Checks (or willing to obtain)
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous customer service experience (desirable)
