Environmental Service Officer – Logan City

Position: Environmental Service Officer   

Location: Logan city  
Pay Rate: $38 –$ 42 per hour
Contract: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week until June 2025, ASAP Start

Maxima’s Recruitment Services is currently seeking highly motivated individual for the positions of Environmental Service Officer   for one of our clients.

Primary Role Purpose: Deliver private land conservation, environmental extension and education services to the community. Support the delivery of environmental grants, events and citizen science activities that enhance public awareness and community conservation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver environmental extension services and educational programs to the community.
  • Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to integrate and leverage environmental services within Council and across related external organizations.
  • Support the development and delivery of citizen science programs, environmental events, and education activities as part of the Natural Environment and Sustainability program.
  • Assist in the management and delivery of environmental grants, ensuring effective administration and valued outcomes.
  • Respond to customer service requests related to environmental services, providing accurate and timely information and advice on environmental management.
  • Negotiate with landholders to encourage the adoption of best practice conservation land management strategies.
  • Manage risks and issues through the delivery of services, ensuring change outcomes align with customer and stakeholder expectations.
  • Promote and adhere to health, safety, and wellbeing policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace for self and others.
  • Actively contribute to the development of a positive and high-performing environmental services team in a customer-centric environment.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and federal government authorities and other stakeholders to deliver significant regional environmental services aligned with organizational objectives.


  • Bachelor Degree in environmental management, environmental science, ecology, or related field.
  • Understanding of environmental management principles, ecosystem services, and relevant State and Federal environmental legislation.
  • Possession of a current “C” class driver’s license.
  • Compliance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, including holding a current Blue Card.
  • This position has been identified as having a ‘Significant Risk’ of exposure to diseases preventable by vaccination. The incumbent must have the following vaccinations in accordance with The Australian Immunisation Handbook and Council’s Worker Vaccination Management Directive: Hepatitis A and Tetanus.
