Finance Business Partner

Maxima’s Recruitment Services are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner for an assignment with a well-known Local Council based in Tewantin.
 
In this role you will provide a high-quality budgeting and management accounting function, through the delivery of accurate and timely financial information and advice, with a customer-centric approach.
 
This assignment will have you working Monday – Friday, 38 hour weeks on a casual hourly pay of $72.84 + super. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial modelling analysis to support management in developing and evaluating business cases for new projects, services or initiatives
  • Provide recommendations, advice and support to internal client business areas to assist with their preparation of annual budget submissions
  • Develop and maintain processes to track the financial status of operational projects to help drive financial efficiencies, effective resource allocation and delivery of outcomes
  • Use of data modelling, not limited to Excel and SQL system extracts, to develop ad hoc and custom reports and analysis to support emerging business needs
  • Ongoing monitoring, review and analysis of the significant volume of transactional information held within Council’s financial systems, including posting accounts, control accounts and taxation treatment, to ensure ledger accuracy and integrity at all times
  • Liaison with and coordination of reviews by the Queensland Audit Office, Council’s internal auditors and any other regulatory authorities in relation to financial statutory reporting and compliance
  • Preparation of corporate budgetary financial models and complex analysis, not limited to overhead allocations, full cost pricing models, utilities and salary budgeting, levy models and the Long-Term Financial Plan

Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated high level experience in developing budgets and producing financial performance reports
  • Advanced financial modelling skills to develop suites of reports, financial models, cost recovery and allocation tools as well as other models to support activity-based costing
  • Demonstrated strong capability in analysing large finance transactional data sets in Excel as extracted from ERP systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ERP computer system applications, including the navigation of integrated project, asset, payroll, rating, property, cash receipting other related sub-systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, the ability to effectively engage, advise, influence and collaborate with other Council officers, leaders and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines including dealing with competing demands and managing multiple projects and tasks

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree qualification in accounting, commerce or a relevant discipline
  • Current C class driver’s license
