Pay Rate: $42.96 per hour
Contract: 9 days fortnight

Maxima’s Recruitment Services is currently seeking highly motivated individual for the positions of Fleet Asset Officer for one of our clients.
Primary Role Purpose: The Fleet Asset Officer is responsible for the procurement and disposal of fleet assets as part of the delivery of Council’s fleet replacement program. The Fleet Asset Officer is to deliver an efficient and cost-effective procurement process with an emphasis on excellent customer service and meeting the operational needs of internal stakeholders.

Report To: Fleet Management Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical specifications, designs, and ensure engineering compliance for new and existing fleet assets.
  • Create and manage tender documents and specification requirements for fleet replacement.
  • Obtain cost-effective quotations and advise on Plant Fleet asset purchases.
  • Secure the best pricing and terms for Council through effective negotiation with suppliers.
  • Assess quotation and tender submissions, coordinating demonstrations of new plant, fleet, and equipment.
  • Accurately record procurement activities, including contracts, invoices, and delivery receipts, in Council’s management system.
  • Perform safety risk assessments and manage corrective action processes for fleet assets.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding fleet outcomes and coordinate inductions and handovers of new fleet.
  • Conduct market research on suppliers and products, monitor trends, and provide strategic procurement recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Business, Project Management, or Procurement & Contracting, or equivalent experience.
  • IPWEA’s Fleet Management Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • Possession of a current “HR” class driver’s licence or ability to obtain. A current “C” class driver’s licence is required at a minimum.
  • Possession of a current WHS General Construction Induction (White) card or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience managing fleet replacement programs across a broad, related asset base.
  • Strong project management skills, delivering short and long-term procurement projects to quality standards, on time, and within budget.
  • Detailed knowledge of procurement and disposal practices, plant and vehicle design requirements, and relevant Australian Design Regulations, Queensland Transport Regulations, and National Heavy Vehicle Law.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, along with excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to induct customers in the operation of plant, fleet, and equipment.
