Maxima’s Recruitment Services are seeking a Foster and Kinship Care Practitioner for a position with their client. A Local not for profit community organization.
Position Overview
The Foster and Kinship Care Practitioner plays a crucial role in delivering emotional and practical assistance to foster and kinship carers. This position involves working closely with carers to ensure the safety and well-being of children in care, while adhering to the principles outlined in the Child Protection Act.
The role requires a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries, effective communication, and the ability to manage complex situations. The practitioner will also participate in the assessment and training of prospective and current carers, contributing to the overall goal of improving outcomes for children in out-of-home care.
What we’re looking for:
- Demonstrated experience in child protection or human services.
- Understanding of the Child Protection Act and relevant policies.
- Diploma or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or related field is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity in interactions with stakeholders.
- Current Queensland Driver License, First Aid/CPR certificates and Working with Children Blue Card.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, accountable, and committed to supporting the needs of children and their carers, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
