The Role:

Location: Capalaba, QLD
Duration: 12-month Traineeship
Start Date: February 2026

As a Hospitality Trainee, you’ll be part of the IndigiScapes Café team delivering exceptional service and supporting daily operations while learning all aspects of café operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional food and beverage service, including preparing drinks and supporting busy service periods
  • Provide friendly customer service, take orders, and promote menu items
  • Operate POS (point of sale) systems and handle cash transactions accurately
  • Assist with basic food preparation and maintaining food safety standards
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper stock rotation throughout the café

As part of your Traineeship, you’ll join Redland City Council’s Professional Development Program, giving you structured learning, networking opportunities, and exposure to Council-wide operations.

About You:

  • Passionate about hospitality and delivering great customer service
  • Reliable, energetic, and thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Work well in a team and independently
  • Show initiative with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Well-presented with strong communication skills
  • Organised and able to manage time effectively

Role Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work varied work hours including weekends
  • Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (desirable)
  • Be willing to complete a pre-employment functional assessment
  • Physically fit to stand for extended periods
  • Previous experience in customer service (desirable)
