Maxima are seeking a qualified Plumber to join their local government team in Noosaville. You will be able to provide technical advice for the assessment and service delivery as well as, regulate and serve the community in relation to sanitary plumbing and drainage matters by ensuring compliance with statutory legislation.
About the role:
- Provide sound advice in relation to development applications and maintenance activities in accordance with appropriate approval and assessment frameworks, statutory requirements and relevant planning schemes.
- Assist in preparation of documentation (including approvals), correspondence, reports, briefing notes and information documents relevant to development applications and resources, as well as codes and policies.
- Knowledgably and accurately interpret and apply relevant legislation, policy, guidelines and best practice procedures in the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Undertake compliance inspections of sanitary plumbing and drainage installations for all premises to ensure conformity with relevant and current legislation, best practice and related approvals/permits.
- Such other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the skill and knowledge requirements of this position.
About you:
- Possession of current Queensland plumbers and drainer’s licence, and relevant endorsement for solar and heat pumps.
- Qualifications need to satisfy membership status (or eligibility to become a member) of an appropriate and relevant professional association.
- Driver’s Licence – “C” class.
- Sound and thorough knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018 and subordinate regulations, the National Plumbing and Drainage Code – AS/NZS 3500, the Queensland Plumbing and Waste water Code, AS/NZS 1547:2012 and conventional trade waste practices.
- Experience in the assessment of hydraulic and geotechnical designs, processing of applications and the subsequent site inspections to ensure compliance with relevant standards and permit conditions.
- Knowledge in the interpretation of reports and assessment of designs relating to proposed on-site treatment and application of effluent and the subsequent site inspections to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills with particular emphasis in the areas of advocacy, liaison, consultation, building effective relationships, negotiation, persuasion, conflict resolution and assertiveness in order to resolve issues and meet changing organisation needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of Queensland principles and legislation affecting development and Plumbing, including the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 the Building Act 1975, Local Government Act 2009 the Building Regulation 2006 and the Building Code of Australia and relevant planning schemes.
