Position: Senior/Landscape Architect
Location: Logan
Pay Rate: $39/hr – $58.06/hr + super (depending on experience)
Contract: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week until November with possibility of going permanent
Maxima’s Recruitment Services is currently seeking highly motivated individuals Landscape Architect for one of our clients.
Primary Role Purpose: Landscape Architect is to provide expert design and technical services for landscape architecture projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes within budget and time constraints. They will support the Parks Design Coordinator and engage with stakeholders to implement effective landscape strategies. Additionally, they will manage project documentation, cost estimates and consultancy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare detailed landscape designs and documentation for complex parkland and road landscape projects.
- Deliver high-quality designs within specified time and budget targets as part of the overall design program.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and manage project design budgets, reporting any variances.
- Source, select, and manage consultancy services required for landscape projects.
- Prepare, review, and lead the implementation of landscape policies, strategies, and guidelines.
- Undertake appropriate consultation with relevant stakeholders on proposed landscape designs and strategies.
- Develop and oversee the delivery of community engagement activities related to landscape designs and strategies.
- Provide specialist technical advice to internal and external customers, including operational staff and development assessment teams.
- Prepare funding submissions, accountability documentation, and progress reports on project activities.
- Contribute to and comply with health, safety, and wellbeing policies and procedures to ensure workplace safety for self and others.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum of 3-year degree) in landscape architecture or a related design field accredited by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA).
- Experience in landscape architecture in a professional environment, with the ability to autonomously and accurately provide high-quality designs and associated documentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design and documentation of major landscape works, particularly in public open space areas.
- Broad knowledge of park management issues.
- High level of proficiency in freehand graphics, computer-aided design (including AutoCAD and Adobe Creative suite), desktop publishing, and presentation software.
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparing reports, using Excel, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Microsoft Office software.
- Effectiveness in liaising and maintaining relationships with representatives from various agencies and work areas to achieve positive community outcomes.
- Ability to interpret and effectively communicate projects and design strategies to a broad audience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team environment, providing technical guidance and mentoring to landscape architects.
- Possession of a current “C” class driver’s licence.
