Principal Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a  Principal Mechanical Engineer. As the representative for the design of mechanical assets, you’ll be responsible for monitoring design development, identifying technical and design issues, and liaising with personnel to ensure the project’s success.
 
– Become a key member of the Major Projects team, contributing to the management, tracking, and coordination of design development and documentation.
– Leverage your expertise to analyze conveyor systems and evaluate their effectiveness, ensuring optimal performance.
– Collaborate with stakeholders to address technical queries and review critical documents, showcasing your exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experienced in the design, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and materials handling assets, with a strong understanding of balanced machines such as stackers and grab unloaders.
  • Proficient in writing specifications and technical reports, demonstrating your attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of statutory requirements and national standards associated with the design, approval, and development of mechanical assets.
  • Skilled in owner’s team or owner’s engineer roles, bringing a valuable perspective to the project.
  • Adept at navigating the complexities of mechanical installations within Hazardous Areas, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in the delivery of mining and/or industrial projects.
  • Chartered Engineer status or eligibility for Chartered Engineer registration, showcasing your technical expertise.
  • Knowledge of Port operations and mechanical infrastructure, providing a unique advantage in this role.
