The Role:
Maxima, and Ampol, are seeking a committed individual to undertake a Retail Traineeship at Ampol’s Batemans Bay service station.
Working as a Retail Team Member trainee you will support in the execution of retail initiatives, promotions and other in-store activities, undertake inventory management, and food safety. You will handle POS transactions, cash reconciliations and provide a high level of customer service.
You will work full-time and be provided with paid, practical experience alongside experienced supervisors and study towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Retail.
Duties include:
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Process sales through relevant software
- Learn and maintain extensive product knowledge
- Assist with food preparation as required
- Assist with stock control and inventory, including completing stock refills
- Complete operational tasks, such as performing fuel dips
- Complete cleaning duties of the store
- Handle customer enquiries in person and over phone with a can-do and respectful attitude
- Maintain a tidy and clean appearance and work environment

Role Requirements:
- Previous customer service experience desirable
- Flexibility to work shifts across different nights, days, weekends and Public Holidays
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment
- Basic numeracy understanding
- Ability to build rapport with a variety of people and groups
