About the Role:
Maxima’s state government client is seeking a Senior Freedom of Information Officer for a 6 month temporary assignment (potential to extend past 6 months, dependent on the needs of the business). Working full time hours and based in the CBD, the key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Manging FOI applications and making determinations
- Assess, evaluate and narrow the scope of FOI applications
- Reporting on FOI to senior management
- Provide advice and liaise with all internal and external stakeholders
- Actively support the manager of FOI unit
- Provide subject matter expertise in reviewing, developing and maintaining departmental FOI policy in conjunction with the Manager FOI unit
About You:
- Proven extensive Freedom of Information experience
- Proven ability to analyse information, exercise sound political judgement and develop and implement solutions in the administration of the FOI Act.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand FOI requests, legislation and regulations
- Sound knowledge of Information Privacy Principles
- Exceptional communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a complex and sensitive environment
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times
- Knowledge of Equity and Diversity requirements
- Current National Police Clearance required
