Your Host Employer:

The Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) assists the Minister for Health and Wellbeing in setting the policy framework and strategic directions for SA Health.

DHW supports the delivery of public health services, formulates health policy, facilitates public and consumer consultation on health issues, and monitors the performance of South Australia’s health system through timely advice, research, and administrative support.

The Role:

Location: Bedford Park SA
Duration: 24-month Traineeship

As a Storeperson Trainee, you will assist in the efficient and prompt receiving, picking, packing and replenishment of stock including the use of computer scanning devices to assist in storage, distribution and reordering products.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:

  • Receipt and put away products
  • Pick, pack and replenish stock
  • Receive and distribute dangerous goods and temperature-controlled products
  • Enter data and site-specific information in the electronic inventory control system
  • Dispatch goods and products to SA Health sites or internal customers
  • Undertake cycle counting, stocktake activities and reporting requirements

About You: 

To be successful in this Traineeship, you will need:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Sound numerical and literacy reasoning abilities
  • Strong commitment to working safely and creating a safe working environment
  • Ability to recognise and respect confidentiality and sensitive information
  • Good communication and attention to detail
  • Some prior experience in the use of Microsoft Office products (such as Word and Excel)

Role Requirements: 

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Positive attitude and a genuine desire to learn
  • Must be willing and able to successfully obtain a Forklift Licence during the traineeship
