The Role:
Location: Metro Adelaide SA
Duration: 48-month Apprenticeship
As a Tiler Apprentice, you will lay ceramic, clay, slate, marble, glass and other types of tiles on external and internal walls and floors to provide protective and decorative finishes. This role will require you to travel between work sites.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:
- Carry out measurements and calculations
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Apply basic levelling procedures
- Use wall and floor tiling tools and equipment
- Prepare surfaces for tiling application
- Fix and repair floor and wall tiles
- Apply waterproofing process to internal wet areas
About You:
To be successful in this Apprenticeship, you will need to:
- Be able to follow directions and work under limited supervision
- Love working hands-on
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Hardworking and committed to work and learn
- An eye for detail
- Love learning new systems and procedures
Eligibility Criteria:
- Current driver’s licence with reliable vehicle
- Physically fit and healthy due to undertaking manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience or pre-vocational certificate (desirable)
