The Adelaide Production and Treatment Alliance (P&T Alliance) is a SUEZ partnership with SA Water and is responsible for operating and maintaining five water treatment plants and five wastewater treatment plants that deliver services to the Adelaide Metropolitan regions.

The Role:

Location: Bolivar SA
Duration: 24-month Traineeship

As a Water Industry Operator Trainee, you will ensure the efficient and compliant operation of the plant. Ensuring operations are safe and environmentally sound and ensure the safety of plant personnel, subcontractors and visitors.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:

  • Operate and maintain the plants within the requirements of the Alliance
  • Monitor and respond to plant issues including SCADA alarms and performance trends
  • Monitor plant process and make necessary adjustments as required
  • Perform sampling and laboratory testing to confirm optimum operation of the plant and functionality of instrumentation
  • Ensure adequate stocks of chemicals are available and order chemicals as required
  • General housekeeping of plant, equipment, buildings, structures and surrounds

  • Be committed, reliable and hardworking

  • Work effectively in a team and unsupervised
  • Good communication skills
  • Have a can-do attitude, displaying initiative on the job
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Driver’s licence
  • Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol test
  • Possess good physical fitness to perform manual tasks
  • Previous experience in a similar industry – Civil Construction/Maintenance, Plumbing, Water, Utilities and/or a trade certificate (advantageous)
