The Role: 

Location: Sydney CBD
Duration: 12-month Traineeship

As a Westpac Know your Customer (KYC) Trainee, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring Westpac’s customers’ identities are verified and that Westpac complies with regulatory standards. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about KYC and Identity Verification processes
  • Support onboarding activities for various organisational entities
  • Develop the skills needed to manage and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Gain an understanding of compliance, legislative, and risk management requirements
  • Build confidence in using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint

Learn and Develop:

This traineeship is designed to help you:

  • Build foundational knowledge of banking systems and processes
  • Develop strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Gain resilience, emotional intelligence, and effective communication skills
  • Understand and apply the principles of risk management
  • Grow your confidence and ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this traineeship, you’ll need to:

  • Have a strong interest in the financial services industry and a desire to learn
  • Be committed to working in a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Be open to feedback and eager to develop new skills
  • Be eligible to complete a traineeship as per government guidelines
  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
