WHS Support Officer

  • Immediate Start – duration approx 6 months
  • Full time Hours with some flexibility

About the Role
The Work Health & Safety Support Officer is responsible for the coordination of the Work Health and Safety function for a group of schools
The role will support schools in the group to continuously improve their management of workplace health and safety.
This position facilitates the WHS program to ensure management activities reflect relevant policy and standards and are effectively localised and embedded at each school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Emergency Management for all schools to ensure currency and compliance with the relevant standards
  • Incident Management and hazard reporting for all schools including providing support staff with the use of the system, local responses, and
  • Review incident and hazard reports across the group of schools to share learnings and develop and implement best practice responses across the network.
  • Quality Management by maintaining up to date knowledge on WHS legislation and providing expert advice on best practice approaches to WHS management.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Certificate 4 in Work Health &
  • Previous experience in a Work Health & Safety
  • High level written and verbal communications
  • Solution focused problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders across multiple
  • Ability to provide best-practice advice on WHS matters to effectively meet legislative requirements in an education context.
  • Driver’s License
