The Maxima WA team are proud of their deep connection to the Fremantle community and ongoing commitment to reconciliation. In partnership with Goreng Elder and local artist Christine Reich, the team commissioned a series of vibrant, meaningful artworks that reflect the organisation’s values and the “one Maxima” vision.
The Story Told Through Art
The artwork series titled ‘Bularing Maaraka Kolbang’ meaning Many Hands Go Forward, created by Christine Reich, captures the essence of Maxima’s mission: empowering individuals through connection, inclusion, and support. As a respected Elder within Wagyl Kaip Country and a passionate Fremantle local, Christine brought a unique perspective to the project. The designs incorporated traditional Noongar symbols and storytelling, blending cultural significance with Maxima’s focus on community and personal journeys.
Key themes included:
• Meeting places: Representing the hubs where people gather for training, appointments, and support while fostering connection and collaboration.
• Journeys: Symbolising the pathways individuals took toward employment and self-growth, guided by Maxima’s support services.
• Unity: Illustrating shared spaces and the strength of coming together as one.
A Collaborative Process
Maxima was proud to support Christine in this creative project, which has resulted in a stunning artwork trio now on display in Maxima’s Fremantle office in WA. These pieces serve as a reminder of the importance of culture, community, and reconciliation.

A Commitment to Reconciliation
This initiative was more than just art, it was a step forward in Maxima’s Reconciliation Action Plan. Celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and embracing local talent, we continued fostering inclusion and understanding while strengthening ties with the community.
Why This Mattered
Maxima’s Fremantle office is more than a workplace; it is a gathering space, a support hub, and a place for the community. The artworks not only brighten its walls but also inspire staff, customers, and visitors with their powerful message of unity and resilience.
The unveiling of this special project has marked a significant moment as Maxima and Christine came together to create something truly extraordinary for Fremantle.
