Maxima have been engaged to recruit two (2) Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people to fill identified Picker Packer roles based in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a government-run, not-for-profit organisation that plays a vital role in providing subsidised fresh products to remote communities across Australia. Your work will directly support improved access to fresh, healthy food for communities that need it most.
These are ongoing casual positions, with the opportunity to transition to permanent employment following a successful trial period.
About the workplace
You will be based at a brand new, purpose-built warehouse facility, designed specifically to support the distribution of fresh produce to remote communities. The facility is modern, safe, and equipped with up-to-date systems and equipment.
You will be joining a supportive, community-focused team that values respect, inclusion, and cultural safety.
About the role
As a Picker Packer, your duties will include:
- Picking and packing fresh produce and grocery orders
- Preparing items for dispatch to remote communities
- Safely handling stock and assisting with basic inventory tasks
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
- Working collaboratively as part of a small team
Hours / Days
Full time hours – Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm (start / finish times may vary)
What we’re looking for

- Are reliable and motivated to work
- Are willing to learn and develop new skills
- Can work in a warehouse environment
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
Previous warehouse experience is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided.
Forklift Licence
- A current forklift licence is highly regarded
- If you do not currently hold a forklift licence, the organisation will fund and support you to complete your forklift training as part of your employment
