About the Program

Maxima’s Indigenous Employment Team supports First Nations trainees, apprentices and host employers across South Australia. Our team plays an important role in creating meaningful career pathways for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, working closely with schools, communities and corporate partners.

As part of this work, our ISEP team coordinates training, mentoring, pastoral support and employment opportunities. We are now looking for a motivated First Nations trainee to join us in an administrative support role while completing a Certificate III in Business.
 
About the Traineeship
As a Trainee Administrator, you will complete a Certificate III in Business while gaining hands‑on experience supporting our work with First Nations trainees, apprentices, schools and communities across South Australia.

Across your 18‑month traineeship, you will learn how to support the team with day‑to‑day administration, record‑keeping, screening, and coordinating activities and events for trainees, apprentices and employers.

You will work closely with our established Administration team and Service Delivery team and will be an important part of ensuring our First Nations people feel supported throughout their employment and training journey.
 
This is an identified position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates. 
 

Key Responsibilities
You will be supported and trained to:

  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the Indigenous Employment Team
  • Prepare documents, reports, meeting notes and data entry tasks
  • Assist with organising appointments, school visits, community meetings and events
  • Help coordinate travel, bookings and scheduling activities like interviews and inductions
  • Support recruitment processes including screening applicants and organising interviews
  • Assist with maintaining trainee and apprentice records in our systems
  • Follow up enquiries from trainees, employers and community partners
  • Contribute to a positive, culturally safe and supportive environment for our First Nations participants

About You

  • Friendly and professional communication skills
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to follow procedures
  • Basic computer skills and interest in building your digital confidence
  • Good time management and a steady approach to staying organised
  • The ability to work in a supportive, busy team environment
  • Any previous experience in administration, customer service or community engagement (helpful but not required)
