The Role:
Location: Henley Beach, Adelaide SA
Duration: 18-month full time Traineeship
Salary: National Training Wages Apply
This is an identified position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates.
The Trainee Administrator supports the day-to-day administrative operations of a hospital while developing skills in healthcare administration.
Duties include:
- Assist with patient registration and appointment scheduling
- Maintain and update patient records and databases accurately
- Handle phone calls, emails, and general enquiries in a professional manner
- Perform data entry and filing tasks (electronic and paper-based)
- Support administrative staff with daily office tasks
- Prepare and manage documents, reports, and correspondence
- Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements
- Liaise with clinical staff and other departments as needed
About You:
To be successful in this Traineeship, you’ll need:
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have effective organisational and time management skills
- Showcase initiative and problem-solving skills
- Respectful and compassionate approach toward patients
- Works effectively as part of a team and under limited supervision
Role Requirements:
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Ability to work rostered shifts between 6:00am and 6:00pm – flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekend shifts or public holidays may be required
- National Police and Working with Children Checks (or willing to obtain)
- Competent use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
