About the Opportunity
The ARC Campbelltown is seeking candidates for the position of Aquatics and Facilities Supervisor.
This role has been established to support the Aquatics and Recreation Facilities Team Leader in delivering safe, high-quality and compliant aquatic and recreation facility operations across the Centre.
The successful candidate will contribute to the day-to-day leadership of aquatics and facility operations, supporting staff, operational coverage, compliance, building presentation and customer experience while ensuring the Centre continues to deliver safe and professional services to the community.
The role will also undertake Duty Manager shifts as rostered and provide operational leadership support across core trading periods.
About the Role
- Support safe and effective aquatic and facility operations across the Centre
- Supervise and support Duty Managers and Lifeguards to maintain supervision and customer service standards
- Assist with workforce coordination, rostering support and operational coverage
- Monitor compliance, risk management and facility presentation standards
- Support pool plant operations and contractor coordination
- Respond to operational issues and escalate matters as required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across aquatics and facility operations
- Undertake Duty Manager responsibilities as rostered
- Act in the Team Leader role when required
- Complete operational administration and reporting requirements as required
Classification and Higher Duties
- Base classification: Level 8 – Local Government Industry Award 2020

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Confidence managing operations, people and practical issues in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to safety, compliance and customer service
- Ability to support and guide teams across multiple service areas
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends and evenings
- A trade, technical, facilities, maintenance, plant or operational background will be highly regarded
- Experience in recreation or aquatics is highly regarded, but is not essential for candidates with strong leadership capability and a practical operational background
- Willingness to obtain the required recreation, aquatic and compliance qualifications following appointment, where required
Eligibility
Applicants are not required to already hold all recreation-specific qualifications to be considered. The successful candidate must hold, or be willing to obtain, the required qualifications and compliance clearances as part of the appointment and onboarding process.
Required qualifications and clearances include:
- Working With Children Check (Paid Employment)
- First Aid and CPR
- Child Safe Environment Training (RRHAN-EC)
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Pool Operator Certificate
Timing for completion of required qualifications will be confirmed as part of the appointment process. Some qualifications may need to be completed before the successful candidate undertakes particular duties.
