The Role:
Location: Beverley SA
Duration: 36‑month full‑time Traineeship
As an Arborist Trainee, you will learn to care for, maintain and manage trees across the City of Charles Sturt’s parks, reserves and streetscapes.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:
– Assist with tree pruning, removal and planting
– Operate and maintain arborist tools and equipment
– Support tree health through mulching, fertilising and pest control
– Learn to identify tree species and assess tree health and risks
– Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment
– Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors
About You:
To be successful in this Traineeship, you will:
– Enjoy working outdoors and using garden tools
– Be reliable, hardworking and committed to learning
– Communicate well and work effectively in a team
– Show initiative and a positive attitude
– Be able to follow instructions and work independently
Role Requirements:
– Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
– Good physical fitness to perform manual tasks
– Willing to complete a pre‑employment assessment including a drug and alcohol screen
– Previous gardening or similar trade experience (advantageous)
