ASO6 Strategy Officer

About the Role:
Maxima’s valued state government client is seeking an ASO6 Strategy Officer to support the development, implementation and evaluation of disability and health related policies and programs within a specific sector. This highly specialised role is being offered as a temporary position, going for approximately 2 months, whilst covering current staff leave.  

Duties of the role include:

  • Provide strategic advise and support for policy related matters
  • Researching, monitoring and analysing emerging policy issues
  • Collaborate with health professionals to provide and coordinate best practice health policies and programs
  • Provide cohesive advice and/or services in relation to state and national disability reform
  • Prepare and contribute to written materials, including briefings, reports and other correspondence
  • Executive support for the coordination and curation of meetings with internal and external stakeholders

About You:
Having worked in a similar role previously, you will bring the following attributes to this position:

  • A current Working with Children Check
  • A tertiary qualification in one or more of the following fields: public policy, disability, education, behavioural sciences, social sciences or project management
  • Demonstrated experience in providing support for the development and implementation of policies and reforms, specifically related to the disability sector
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly politically sensitive environment, with changing priorities
  • Knowledge of government decision making processes and public sector practises, procedures and standards
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team and independently under broad direction planning activities
