Bricklayer Apprenticeship

The Role:

Across four years work fulltime and gain hands on industry experience, paid study and continuous mentoring, whilst gaining a nationally recognised Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying. This role will require you to travel between work sites.

Bricklaying is one of the most vital and in demand trades within the construction industry. Upon completion you will be a highly skilled and valued team member with endless opportunities, anything from a builder, supervisor, or estimator.

Duties Include:

  • Lay, move, and stack bricks/blocks
  • Mix mortar 
  • Site preparation
  • Level and finish concrete
  • Undertake measurements and calculations
  • Other labouring duties as required

About You:

  • Have a genuine interest in a bricklaying career 
  • Basic understanding of the trade
  • Able to operate power tools and equipment
  • Ability to follow directions and work under limited supervision
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Can do attitude and willingness to learn

Role Requirements: 

  • Provisional or full driver’s licence with own vehicle
  • Possess good physical fitness due to undertaking manual labour
  • Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including drug and alcohol test
  • Previous on-site labouring experience (desirable)
  • Completed a Certificate II in Doorways to Construction or similar (desirable)
