The Role:

Maxima, and Advara HeartCare, are looking for a committed individual to undertake a Business Traineeship working as a Patient Services Officer.

Day to day you will be responsible for providing friendly customer service and administrative support to patients, staff and clinicians, booking and rescheduling appointments and liaising with hospital staff and doctors.

Throughout this 18-months, fulltime opportunity you will gain hands on experience, paid training and continuous mentoring towards gaining a nationally recognised Certificate III in Business.

Located primarily at the Gawler clinic, you will occasionally be rostered at the Adelaide and Leabrook clinics.

Duties Include:

  • Welcome patients and visitors
  • Create and update patient records
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and follow-up where required 
  • Schedule patient appointments and testing results
  • Process payments and Medicare rebates 
  • Maintain reception and waiting area

About You:

  • Ability to build rapport with a variety of individuals 
  • Showcases initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail 
  • Remains calm when working under pressure 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills 
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written 

Role Requirements:

  • Sensitive to private and confidential information
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications 
  • Reliable transport
