The Role:
Working as an Emergency Department Administration Officer trainee you will work in a fast paced environment, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support.
Across 18-months you will work fulltime and be provided with paid, practical experience alongside experienced supervisors and study towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Business.
Duties Include:
- Welcome patients and visitors
- Manage and maintain patient records
- Answer incoming telephone calls on a busy switchboard
- Process patient admission and discharges
- Complete health fund checks
- Data entry, scanning and filing as required
- Assist patients with directions
About You:
- Ability to build rapport with a variety of individuals
- Showcases initiative and problem-solving skills
- Empathetic and caring nature
- Remains calm when working under pressure
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Role Requirements:
- Ability to work rostered shifts between 6:30am and 9:00pm
- Current COVID-19 vaccinations – minimum two doses (or willing to obtain)
- Current clearances (or willing to obtain)
- Competent use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Previous customer service experience (desirable)
