Maxima’s Recruitment Services are chasing an experienced Civil Labourer / Operator to join their client, a Local Council based in Yeppoon.
This role will see you work Monday to Friday with a casual hourly pay of $43.76 undertaking a wide range of plant operation and labouring tasks as part of a multi disciplined team that is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, conduct servicing and basic maintenance of various types of earthmoving equipment and trucks
- Undertake all maintenance and construction tasks
- Undertake general labouring duties including pipe laying and concreting
- Read and carry out basic instructions and make simple reports
- Operate and maintain small plant, machines and hand tools
- Report any defects or problems to supervisor e.g. equipment or safety concerns
About You:
- MR Truck license
- White Card
- Possess appropriate licenses and extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of plant, preferable in the civil industry
- A working knowledge of the requirements for small plant, machinery and hand tool operation and maintenance
- Ability to undertake a range of construction and maintenance tasks with general supervision
- An understanding of the basic requirements of civil construction and maintenance
- Understanding of the methods of concrete construction, pavement construction and pipe laying
- Reasonable level of numeracy and literacy in order to read and carry out basic instruction and make simple reports
