Community Development Officer

About the Role:

Maxima’s valued client is seeking an experienced Community Development Officer to assist with supporting and nurturing community-run programs for a temporary 6 month assignment. Working 4 days/week, and paying $58/hr casual + Super, this role does not involve running of the programs. In this role, you will partner with key stakeholders to support new initiatives, existing projects and/or work with partners to develop solutions to assist in meeting identified community needs. A strong emphasis is placed on data driven, evidence-based practices and working in partnership.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Utilise effective research and evaluation practices to direct priority work areas.
  • Utilise evidence-based practices to develop partnerships.
  • Develop partnerships and collaborations.
  • Participate in relevant networks and forums to inform your work and contribute.
  • Complete projects within scope, budget and timeline.
  • Provide relevant reports when required.

 
About You:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • A tertiary qualification in Community Development/Youth Development/Population Health/Public Health or other relevant field.
  • National Police Clearance (required)
  • Working with Children Check (required)
  • Vulnerable personal related employment check (required)
  • Experience in building and maintaining effective relationships and working in collaboration with key partners across a broad sector
  • Strong project management skills including research, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
