Host Employer:
Our Host Employer is a Local Government Council located in the Southern Suburbs of Adelaide. They are committed to deliver programs, initiatives and opportunities for people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
These opportunities are designed to support people who want to gain practical workplace experience, earn a qualification, and develop a pathway into a rewarding career serving the community. Traineeships may range from 18-months to 3-years depending on the qualification pathway and role requirements.
The Opportunities and qualification pathways may include:
Certificate in Horticulture or Conservation- develop practical skills working in parks, gardens, open spaces and environment services.
Certificate in Business Administration – Gain experience in office administration, customer service, Council processes and business support functions such as records management.
Certificate in Local Government – Develop knowledge and skills to support a career in LG operations, community services, and governance.
Certificate in Information Technology – Build skills in digital systems, technology support and information services.
Who we are looking for:
No previous experience is required. These are entry-level positions designed for someone starting their career journey and gaining a qualification through on-the-job learning. If you already hold a qualification or a higher-level qualification in the same/similar industry, these roles may not be suitable as they are designed for someone looking to build their foundational skills and experience. School leavers are encouraged to apply.

If you come from CALD background, identify as First Nations or Torres Strait Islander; are interested in building a career in local government and willing and can commit to completing a qualification through a traineeship, please submit an application and cover letter outlining:
