Maxima has been engaged to recruit an experienced, high-calibre Forklift Operator for our client, based in Gillman, South Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator who takes pride in precision and professionalism to ensure the safe handling high-value equipment and freight.
About the Role
Initially offered on a casual basis, this position involves operating:
- A 9 Tonne Counterbalance Forklift
- A 40 Tonne Container Forklift (container handling)
Both machines can be operated with a standard Forklift (LF) Licence, and you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training on each forklift.
Working hours are generally 7:00am – 3:00pm with overtime available most days.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Safe and efficient movement of shipping containers within the yard
- Loading and unloading containers
- Occasional smaller forklift tasks as required
- Working within a professional transport yard environment
Work may also include:
- Breaking down / build-up of pallets
- General stores work
About You
You are healthy person, who has the following attributes / abilities.
- The ability to pass a full medical, including Drug & Alcohol testing.
- Hold a current National Police Check or the ability to attain.
- Hold a current Forklift Licence (LF)
- Have experience operating counterbalance forklifts
- Works safely, efficiently, and independently
- You are a reliable team player
- You take pride in maintaining equipment standards
