Freight Handler / Truck Driver (ADL)

Maxima has been engaged to recruit a Freight Handler / Truck Driver for a specialist international air freight company supporting import and export operations working across global markets.
Based at Adelaide Airport, this is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing, small team in a fast-paced logistics environment where reliability and attention to detail really matter.

About the Role
 
This is a hands-on role, with a blend of Forklift Operation (Loading and unloading trucks and moving freight around the shed) and manual handling and checking of freight (receipt and dispatch) as well as delivery driving (HR Truck) to locations with the airport precinct.
 
It is a seven-day roster with penalty rates on weekends 

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Weekend work – generally 8:00am until around 1:30pm (depending on freight levels) 
  • Consistent roster (weekends shared (approximately 1 day / fortnight)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Breaking down and building up air freight pallets
  • Operating forklifts and pallet jacks (where licensed)
  • Accurate freight handling and checking
  • Truck driving
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant warehouse environment
  • Following strict air freight security and safety procedures

About You  
You are experienced in Freight Operations and enjoy working as part of a small, close-knit team. You understand the importance of accuracy and consistency in a freight environment. 
 
You will ideally have:

  • HR Truck Licence and driving experience
  • A current high-risk Forklift Licence
  • Previous experience in freight, warehouse or logistics environments
  • A strong work ethic and ability to handle repetitive/manual tasks
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow processes
  • A positive attitude and team-first mindset

Highly regarded (but not essential):

  • Experience in air freight or bonded warehouse environments

To be successful, you must be able to:

  • Pass a National Police Clearance
  • Pass a pre-employment medical
  • Obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
