Maxima is recruiting two Freight Handlers for ongoing roles with a highly regarded company based at the airport.
About the Roles
Both roles are ongoing casual positions, with the opportunity for permanency after a trial period. You will be working in a small team to unload, scan, check, pack and dispatch fresh produce in an exciting airport role. You will also be involved in loading planes, once you have applied for and received an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card).
Days / Hours
Role 1 Tuesday to Saturday, 4:00am-12:00pm. This role involves frequent lifting of up to 20 kg. Role 2 Monday to Friday, 4:00am-12:00pm. This role involves a moderate amount of physical lifting.
NOTE: Days / times may vary with operational needs but will generally be start early / finish early type roles.
Working with fresh / frozen produce there will be times that you will be working in a refrigerated environment occasional work in the freezer
Key Requirements:
A High-Risk Forklift Licence is desirable, along with a strong level of physical fitness. Applicants must be able to pass a full medical assessment and police clearance.
Duties include:
- Loading and unloading freight by hand and using a forklift
- Breaking down pallets, X-raying cartons and rebuilding pallets
- Working as part of a team to meet freight and service targets

You like to get up and start work early, to free up some time in the afternoons for other commitments / activities. You have strong attention to detail and value working with a supportive team focused on great outcomes.
