We are seeking a motivated Grounds Services Officer to join a leading aged care and retirement living organisation on a temporary basis. In this hands-on role, you’ll help maintain gardens, grounds, and community spaces while delivering exceptional service to residents and clients.
About the Role
As a Grounds Services Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking planned and reactive grounds maintenance across a range of sites. This includes gardening, landscaping, general maintenance, and site improvement works to ensure outdoor areas remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. You will work closely with residents, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver a high standard of service and contribute to positive community experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Garden and grounds maintenance activities
- Landscaping and general maintenance works
- Paving, irrigation, and stormwater system maintenance
- Responding to maintenance requests and site improvement needs
- Maintaining accurate records and completing required reporting
- Building positive relationships with residents, clients, and stakeholders
- Contributing to a safe workplace and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You are a reliable and customer-focused individual who enjoys working outdoors and takes ownership of delivering quality results. You have strong communication skills, can work independently, and are confident engaging with a diverse range of people. Experience working within community services, retirement living, or aged care environments will be highly regarded.
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, or a similar role
- Experience operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment
- Strong knowledge of garden care and general outdoor maintenance
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
- First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work safely and follow workplace procedures
- Trade qualification in Gardening or Horticulture highly regarded
- Extensive industry experience strongly preferred
