We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Groundskeeper for a short-term temporary assignment at a busy school environment located in Adelaide’s western suburbs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in maintaining safe and well-presented grounds, and is happy to assist with a variety of gardening and maintenance tasks.
About the Role
As a Groundskeeper, you will play an important role in maintaining the school’s outdoor areas and supporting daily operations. Working as part of a supportive team, your duties will include:
- Operating a leaf blower and outdoor vacuum equipment
- Emptying wheelie bins and transporting waste using a wheelbarrow
- Lawn mowing using a ride-on mower
- Watering gardens and landscaped areas
- Weeding, planting, and general gardening duties
- Whipper snipping and edging
- Shovelling and manual labour tasks
- Furniture and equipment relocation
- Assisting with the setup of after-school sporting activities
- General grounds maintenance and presentation
About You
You are a dependable and proactive individual who enjoys working outdoors and takes a practical approach to your work. You are physically fit, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, or a similar outdoor role
- Experience operating equipment such as ride-on mowers, leaf blowers, whipper snippers, or similar machinery
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Reliable transport and punctual attendance
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) – mandatory
- Current National Police Clearance (NPC) – mandatory
