Position: Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor

Location: Logan

Employment Type: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week until Dec 2025

Payrate:  $48/hr – $58/hr + super

Maxima is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor for one of our government clients.

About the role:

As a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you will provide expert health, safety and wellbeing advice to operational teams, work directly with leaders and staff to embed strong WHS practices, lead or support investigations and audits and deliver training and coaching to build safety capability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level WHS advice, coaching, and support to operational leaders and workers
  • Promote and implement WHS risk management practices and Council’s WHSWMS
  • Support incident investigations, return-to-work processes, and health & wellbeing initiatives
  • Deliver safety-related training and toolbox talks
  • Lead or support internal audits and high-risk investigations
  • Build strong, consultative relationships across diverse teams and branches

Key Requirements:
 

  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, systems, and operational safety practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, advisory, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • WHS Auditor certification (Lead Auditor preferred)
  • ICAM or similar investigation training (required for Level 6)
  • Tertiary qualification in WHS or related field (desirable)
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment or Project Management (desirable)
  • Current driver’s licence and White Card (essential)
