Maxima’s Recruitment Services is currently seeking highly motivated individual as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for one of our local government clients based in Margate.
Primary Role Purpose: As a Mechanic, you will work closely with the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator and Workshop Programmer to maintain and repair fleet of vehicles, plant and miscellaneous equipment.
Offering a 9 day fortnight with a casual hourly pay of $50 + super.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs of engines, transmissions (manual /
powershift), hydraulic systems, air systems, brake systems, steering systems and all other
mechanical and electrical related matters - Carry out body repairs including minor fabrication, welding and spray painting
- Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting activities to identify necessary repair work
- Conduct brake testing in accordance with the Department of Transport authorisation
- Provide apprentices with on-the-job training relevant to their apprenticeships
- Compile service records on maintenance activities carried out on items of plant
Experience:
- Experience in maintenance and repair/ overhaul of light, medium and heavy vehicles and plant
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Confident assisting in the training of apprentices
- Numeracy, written and verbal communication skills sufficient to complete paperwork, read safety instructions and plans, and to effectively communicate with the public and team members in the provision of a quality customer service
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Heavy Diesel Fitter Cert III or equivalent
- HR truck license essential
- White Card
- Current National Police Clearance or willing to obtain
- Must be vaccinated against Tetanus, Hep A and Hep B
