Maxima are taking expressions of interest for a number of Horticulture Trainee opportunities. These 36-month fulltime opportunities will see you working with our Host Employers, ranging from Local Government Councils and Private Companies/Enterprises. During the traineeship you will develop skills and knowledge in a variety of areas with hands-on experience, and paid study towards achieving a nationally recognised Certificate III in Horticulture.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:
- Garden and grounds maintenance
- Mulch, prune, pot, and water plants
- Use garden tools and machinery
- Brush cutting and mowing
- Pest and weed control
- Install irrigation pipes and watering systems
About You:
To be successful in this Traineeship, you will need to:
- Enjoy working outdoors and with garden tools
- Strong work ethic; reliable and punctual
- Ability to prioritise time and tasks when working under pressure
- Works effectively within a team
- Great communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude and willing to learn
Role Requirements:
- Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment including a drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience in gardening or similar trades (advantageous)
