This 36-month fulltime traineeship will give you the opportunity to get your hands dirty and work outdoors. You will develop skills and knowledge in a variety of areas with hands-on experience, and paid study towards achieving a nationally recognised Certificate III in Horticulture or Arboriculture.
Duties may include:
- Garden and grounds maintenance
- Mulch, prune, pot, and water plants
- Use garden tools and machinery
- Brush cutting and mowing
- Pest and weed control
- Install irrigation pipes and watering systems
- Trim and chip/mulch trees
- Tree removal
- Pest and weed control
- Undertake appropriate climbing techniques
- Use relevant machinery including chainsaws and woodchippers
Role Requirements:
- Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Physically fit and healthy due to undertaking manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience in gardening or similar trades (advantageous)
