About the Role:
This is not your average gardening job. You’ll be part of council teams responsible for maintaining parks, reserves, streetscapes, and community spaces — work that is seen and used every day.
Expect a mix of horticulture and irrigation duties, keeping outdoor spaces functional, safe, and looking their best.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain parks, gardens, turf, and public open spaces
- Operate machinery including mowers and minor plant equipment
- Carry out irrigation maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting
- Perform hedging, pruning, slashing, and verge maintenance
- Assist with landscaping and general labouring tasks
- Follow WHS procedures and maintain a safe work environment
To Be Successful:
- Previous horticulture / parks & gardens experience (essential)
- Irrigation experience or exposure (highly regarded)
- MR Licence (essential)
- White Card (essential)
- Experience operating mowers / plant equipment
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Current National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical & drug/alcohol screen
