The Role:
Maxima and the City of Burnside are seeking a motivated individual to undertake an Information Management Traineeship within the People and Innovation team.
 
Based in the Information Management team, this role will support the secure and efficient management of Council records and information, contributing to strong governance and service delivery.
 
Throughout this 18-month full-time opportunity, you will be supported by experienced information Management staff in a collaborative team environment, while completing a Certificate III in Business.
 
Duties Include:

  • Assist in organising and maintaining physical and digital records.
  • Perform data entry tasks to update corporate records management systems.
  • Conduct records quality assurance checks to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Assist with records classification and metadata allocation in accordance with Council policies.
  • Arrange retrieval of internal and external corporate records.
  • Maintain the registers and retrieval systems for corporate records and essential documents.
  • Assist with the preparation of agendas and taking minutes for team meetings.

  • Demonstrates initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and under limited supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information

 
Role Requirements:

  • Hold a current National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Ability to handle sensitive corporate records with a high level of confidentially
  • Hands-on experience with technology, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Driver’s licence not required for this position.

 
Desirable:

  • Interest in Information and records management, archives or administration
