Maxima’s Recruitment Services are seeking a Land Use Investigation Officer for a position based in Logan Central. You will provide support functions to the Land Use Investigation Team Leader in all duties associated with the smooth and efficient operation of development control functions.
This assignment will see you working a mix of office-based work with regular site inspections. Casual hourly pay of $42.96 + super.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate, interview, gather evidence with a community education focus and formulate action with regards to the legislation
available in relation to alleged offences under the planning scheme - Carry out site inspections and interview alleged offenders and witnesses of offences to gather evidence
- Communicate with community members to provide updates and advise of outcomes of investigations
- Draft briefings on compliance investigations to management and Councilors
- Must adhere to all Council safety policies and directives
To Be Successful:
- Current C class drivers license
- Formal qualifications, such as the Associate Diploma – Built Environment or similar would be an advantage
- Knowledge of the Sustainable Planning Act 2009, Town Plan documents and Policies and ability to read and assess Building Plans / Development Plans is desirable
- Proven ability to conduct inspections and investigations on a community level
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and from all backgrounds
- Experience in development compliance or Town Planning
