Learn to Swim Instructor

The Learn to Swim Instructors are integral members of The ARC Team and have daily duties of the following:

  • Plan and deliver high quality swimming lessons
  • Deliver instruction according to student’s skill level, age and learning capabilities
  • Maintain required qualifications
  • Supervise the students in your Learn to Swim classes
  • Complete required administration requirements specific to the Learn to Swim programs
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings, as set out by the Centre and Aquatic teams
  • Assist in advising matters to do with swim teaching/swim coaching and other appropriate matters
  • Record student attendance and complete assessments and certificates for each student as required
  • Ensure the maintenance of equipment, cleanliness of the storage area and setting up and putting away of all equipment required for lessons is maintained
  • Ensure a high level of professionalism and customer service

Qualifications Required for your Position:

  • AUSTSWIM Registration (Valid for 3 years)
  • DHS – working with children’s check issued July 2019 onwards (Valid for 5 years)
  • National Police Clearance (Valid for 3 years)
  • 7-Hour Child Safe Environment Training (Valid for 3 years)
  • First Aid Certificate (Valid for 3 years)
  • CPR (Valid for 1 year)
