Our Learn to Swim program is recognised for delivering high-quality aquatic education in a safe, fun and supportive environment. About the Role
As a Learn to Swim Instructor, you will deliver safe, engaging and structured swimming lessons that develop water confidence, stroke technique and essential water safety skills across a range of ages and abilities.
Working within our experienced Aquatics team, you will contribute to a positive learning environment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and enjoyable Learn to Swim lessons.
- Teach students according to their age, ability and learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and complete lesson assessments.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Maintain teaching equipment and presentation of learning areas.
- Attend training sessions and team meetings.
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism and exceptional customer service.
About You
We’re looking for instructors who are:
- Passionate about teaching swimming and water safety.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering every scheduled class.
- Friendly, engaging and confident communicating with children and families.
- Professional with a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Committed to providing exceptional customer service.
- Flexible to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants should hold (or be willing to obtain where applicable):
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- Child Safe Environments (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care)
Current AUSTSWIM students who are close to completing their qualification are encouraged to apply. Support may be available for the right candidate.
