Your Host Employer:

Established in 1985, our Host Employer is a family owned, old fashioned repair workshop, located in Hampstead Gardens. Services include oil change, maintenance, service and repair, timing belt, timing chain, radiator, muffler and exhaust, check engine, AC/heating and warranty repairs.


  • Complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • Possible eligibility for Government Incentives of up to $5,000 in first 2 year and access to a Trade Support Loan
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work uniforms provided
  • Stable hours and leave entitlements

The Role:

Maxima, and our Host Employer, are looking for a driven individual to undertake a Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship.

Located at Hampstead Gardens, this 4-year full time opportunity will see you receiving allocated study time to complete a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

Day-to-day you will also gain practical, industry experience alongside experienced supervisors and have a dedicated Maxima Consultant for continuous mentoring.

Duties Include:

  • Service and repair light vehicles
  • Provide efficient customer service
  • Identify and repair electrical systems and components 
  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot
  • Use specialised equipment and tools 
  • Clean work areas

About You:

  • Passionate about the automotive industry
  • Loves working hands-on and outdoors
  • Committed and willing to learn
  • Strong work ethic; punctual and reliable 
  • Efficient problem solving and time management skills
  • Previous industry experience/exposure (advantageous)

Role Requirements:

  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle 
  • Physically fit to undertake manual tasks 
  • Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol test
