Maxima, a national not-for-profit employment services organistion, is on the hunt for an experienced Park Ranger for an assignment with their client, a well-known local Council based in Logan Central.
The main purpose of this role is to deliver activities that promote safe parks for the city and its residents.
On offer is a 10 on, 4 off roster that includes weekend work every fortnight with a casual hourly pay negotiable between $39.00 – $42.96 + super depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations into alleged breaches of legislation and local laws
- Issue correspondence, directions, compliance notices and penalty infringement notices
- Receive and assess license and permit applications in consideration of local laws, and conduct audits of activities to ensure compliance
- Educate and provide specialist information to assist members of the public regarding park usage
- Respond to customer complaints and investigate proactive detections
- Inspect, assess and identify breaches of all relevant governance frameworks such as management directives, legislation and local laws
- Undertake on-site investigations, gather relevant evidence, facilitate resolution of issues, and initiate prompt enforcement outcomes, if required, in accordance with governance expectations
- Prepare concise and accurate evidentiary reports for compliance matters, including investigation reports and statements when required
Requirements:
- Current C class drivers license
- Possession of a Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or any comparable or higher qualifications of equivalence will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 2009, the Environmental Protection Act 1994, the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 and Regulations, and Council’s Local Laws No. 2,4,5,7,9,10,11,12,14 and associated subordinate local laws
- Experience in undertaking investigations, and determination of appropriate compliance or enforcement responses
- Experience in navigating and interpreting State legislation and local laws
- Demonstrated investigation and enforcement skills, including the lawful entry to premises, gathering of evidence and making sound decisions based on evidence which can be legally enforced
